Keywords are the Key
Each week I learn more about how to make a web site high performance. The first key to achieving high performance goals is patience. The second key is undertsanding your target market’s language-their language is based on specific keywords. One of the newest ideas I have discussed with a colleague recently is one that can truly help product driven sites. Many times web sites with large online catalogs or shopping carts do not have much room for content and content is essential to attracting the search engines. The question is how can you add content to a site focused on product photos and purchase? Annual press release distribution and article syndication planned over the course of a year can greatly increase your keyword content, without having to add boring and long product descriptions. Keep your web site simple, functional and geared towards online sales, while also making a name for yourself in the industry and offering educational and thought provoking content for your potential customers. The greatest bonus of all will be feeding the search engine the keywords it needs to get better ranking. Keywords make the difference not matter what industry you are in. Until next time I leave you with this random thought for the week- “Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And today, today is a gift. That’s why we call it the present.”-Babtunde Olatunji
