Birthday Thoughts: Giver’s Gain

I think on of the hardest things to do is to sell yourself. It is easy to believe in someone else and their services or product, it is much more difficult to put a value on your own time, work and energy. Almost all of us dream of having the time and money to hire a marketing team to help bring in the leads and sales, but it usually takes while to get to that point, especially as an entreprenuer or soloprenuer. It is so important that each of us be fearless! We must take risks and introduce ourselves to people we don’t know. We all must step out of our comfort zones and make new connections in order to create more business and grow financially and personally.

Recently I had the oppotunity to meet a woman named Elizabeth Barbour and she is a business and life coach. She teaches a wonderful coaching seminar for women in business called Soloprenuer Woman and is a networking powerhouse. She has great energy, a warm personality and can encourage almost anyone to step out of their shell. One of her mottos is “Givers gain!” I think a great way to begin sales work is to at first learn how to do sales for other business colleagues and associates you know. Once you have mastered marketing a friend or business associate’s services or products the more easily and clearly you will be able to market yourself and be successful.

It is important to connect with other businesses in your community and connecting a potential client with a company in need of clients is a great way to build relationships with your neighbors, aquaintances and fellow professionals. Not only is it great practice for attracting your own customers, it is a great way to build your reputation and open yourself up to all of the possibilities. So in the future think about giving…..referrals, business, an introduction to someone you have never met before…….think about how we can build our own businesses while building others and how we can educate ourselves, hone our skills and reach our goals all together.

Have a wonderful day.
